Recently I’ve approached a new technique: etching. There is something very magical in the first print. Your heart stops beating for a moment, you can hear your own breath when you lift the paper to see what comes out. Here goes my first plate and first print. The Sea of worries. This was my idea for the first etching work. Recently I’ve heard that in a Jewish tradition sea was a symbol of deep, unknown, scary place filled with evil monsters. Somehow I like this metaphor. Something lurking beneath the surface. From this come image. Worries are like monsters beneath the surface of the sea. Sometimes we are not aware of them, but from time to time they lift their tails cutting water surface letting us know: we are here.
